  • 1 lbs Ground Beef
  • 1 packet Chilli Mix Seasoning
  • 1 can Petite Diced Tomatoes
  • 1 can Dark Red Kidney Beans, drained
  • 1 Red Onion, finely chopped, seperated into two bowls
  • 1 tsp Black pepper
  • 1 tbsp Salt
  • 1 pack Hot Dog Buns
  • 1 cup Shredded Cheese (or more)
  • Drizzle of Olive Oil

Instructions

Chilli

  • Chop the red onion finely and seperate into two bowls (one for cooking the chilli and one for garnish).
  • In a skillet on medium heat, satué onions in olive oil until softened.
  • Add in ground beef and break it up with your spoon. Season with black pepper.
  • Cook ground beef until the colour has turned all grey, and any liquid has dried out. Continue to mix and break up the ground beef with your spoon. This step should take about 10-15 minutes.
  • While the ground beef is cooking, drain and rinse kidney beans.
  • When the ground beef is fully cooked, add in the can of crushed tomatoes, your rinsed kidney beans, and chilli seasoning mix. Mix well.
  • Cover with a lid and let chilli come to a boil. Once it comes to a boil, reduce heat and simmer for 10 minutes.

Beef Frankfurters

  • Al Safa's Beef Frankfurters are fully cooked. Prepare to your preference. You can boil frankfurters in hot water for a few minutes until an internal temperature of 74°C is reached, or use an indoor grill. (see video link below)
  • If using an indoor grill, once heated place beef frankfurter and leave pressed for 2-3 minutes.

Chilli Cheese Dogs

  • Once chilli and beef frankfurters are ready, place beef frankfurters in hot dog bun.
  • Spoon chilli mix on top of hot dogs.
  • Garnish with the rest of the red onions and top with as much cheese as you like. Enjoy!!
